It’s fun to pretend whenever I want

That I could be Somethin’ - When I’m really not!

I think it’d be fun to live at the Zoo

If I was an animal, Here’s what I’d do:

If I was a Monkey I just have a hunch

I’d swing from the trees and eat bananas for lunch.

And after I swing and after my lunch

I’d sit down for dinner and eat a whole bunch!

If I was a Giraffe it’d be such a breeze

To have a long neck, and eat lunch from the trees

And after I ate I’d stick out my tongue,

And tickle the Monkeys after they swung!

If I was a Mouse I’d build a small house

I’d eat cheese all day and then I would play

Tag with the Cat - as much as I ought

And when it’s all over I hope I’m not caught!

If I was a Cat I’d act like a Queen

And groom my whole body until it was clean!

With the Mouse in the house I’d play hide n’ seek

And when he’s not lookin’ I think I would peek!

If I was a Kangaroo I’d jump like a Rocket

And carry my young in my front pocket

Leapin’ and hoppin’ and jumpin’ around

My babies would giggle - as they bounce to the ground!

If I was a Turtle I’d have a hard shell.

When I want to play I think it’d be swell

To put my head in and take it back out,

And yell “Peek-A Boo” with a very great shout!

If I was a Lion I’d roar all the Day.

"King of the Jungle!” - I’d hear people say.

With a crown on my head, I think I’d be tryin’

To sit on my throne and prove they’re not ‘Lyin’!

If I was an Elephant I’d bathe with my trunk.

I’d come out of the water before I got shrunk.

And after I’d bathed and before I got shrunk,

I’d pack for vacation by filling my trunk!

I’m in my pajamas I’m ready for bed

When I say my prayers Mom kisses my head

And now that I’ve thought of all I could be,

When Mom tucks me in -

I’m GLAD I’m JUST ME!
