I have been thinking lately about a (small, tiny, minor, little) thing called Hindsight. It is said that Hindsight is 20/20... But now I think that Hindsight is a lot more than 20/20.

Most of the people that I know (including myself), use Hindsight like a Hammer, to beat themselves up.

When I'm in the middle of trying to make a decision, I tell myself: "If I do This - I will wind up feeling like I shoulda' done That... But if I do That - I will be telling myself, what if I woulda' done This, instead. It causes a lot of my indecision.

But, shoulda', coulda', woulda' never changes the outcome that I wound up with. It only makes me Regret things that are now past - that I will never be able to change. So here is what I have been thinking about lately:

Instead of using Hindsight as a Hammer to beat myself up with - what if I make it into a Different tool?

Like maybe a Chalkboard to write down the lessons that I could learn. Like other choices that I could have made, that might have increased the chances of a better outcome.

Or - Hindsight could be regarded as a Teacher who only wants the best for me.

Or - a Surgeon who cuts the bad choices out; so that the good choices can thrive...?

Then Hindsight could also become a constant Yardstick - to measure my progress throughout my Entire Life!

Am I the Only One who thinks like this?
