Dearest Abba

My heart is full today.

You know all of its contents.

I know that not everything

That lives in my heart can please You.

Still, You reside there, ...and choose to remain.

Even now, I have barely etched a word.

And You have wrung out the page on which I write.

If I could be everything that pleases You

And nothing that doesn’t…

You would have one less bottle of tears in Heaven.

My Vale of tears… is me.

You have never let me down.

But countless times I have disappointed You.

Everyday, I repent

And pray to be more like Jesus.

Every day – I still wind up like me.

Yet You saw what I was...

When You purchased me.

In paying the Ultimate Price -

You assigned a worth to me that I cannot see,

And will never be able to comprehend...

So You are my Consolation and Hope.

My Savior and my God.

You died on the Cross, to save me.

Daily I plunge headlong,

Into the deep end of Your Forgiveness.

And it covers me, and makes me clean.

Then all day, I swim in the pool

Of Your enduring Love and Grace

Mercy and Peace.

As I lay down at night,

I long to reflect Jesus,

The way the moon reflects the sun.

Then I remember the Scripture:

1 John 3:2 “Dear friends we are already God’s children, but He has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like him, for we will see Him as he really is.” NLT

And I fall asleep secure in the knowledge

That One Day I will pray to be like Jesus

And the next -

I will wake up to be with Him. 

Forever.

Then I will be…

Eternally Yours,
