I have spent years witnessing directly to unbelievers. I use the law for its lawful purpose. In witnessing, I always offer grace to the humble and law to the proud, just like Jesus did. The law breaks the hard heart so the gospel of grace can be planted. The law is for the sinner, the unbeliever, the unrighteous. The believer, the righteous are no longer under the dominion of the Old Covenant law, Ten Commandments. We are under the New Covenant of grace and truth where sin is not imputed and we are to uphold the Spirit of all of God's laws, which is love. Love is the only thing that fulfills the purpose God had in writing out the letter of the law. (Rom 13:8-10) There is no condemnation in God's perfect love that casts out all fear.
My studies about the New Covenant of grace and truth Jesus died to bring us will rid a person of all doubt about their forgiveness and salvation. It is all about seeking Jesus first in all things, He is our righteousness. (Matt 6:33)
