There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. Rom 8:1-2 ESV
Jesus died once for all sin for all people. Being set free from the law of sin and death is also a one-time event. We are not set free from this law of sin and death and then placed back under it again when we fail. If we were, every time we sinned, we would be constantly back and forth under the law’s condemnation, and there is no condemnation in Christ. Our freedom from the law of sin and death is an eternal one-time event that takes place when we confess Christ and believe the full gospel that Paul passed in the following verses.
3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 1 Cor 15:3-4 ESV
Romans 8:1 states the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set us free from the law of sin and death. This is specifically why there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. We are set free from the law that brought condemnation upon us. Forever free.
For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. Rom 10:14 ESV
Should we now freely sin because we are free from the condemnation the law brings. Paul answers this question, and the answer is emphatically no. I agree we should love God and love others, which fulfills the entire law (Rom 13:8-10). Will we come under the laws condemnation of death when we do sin? No! We are forever free from the law of sin and death. This is great news for all who believe and great news for all who want to be free from death, to live forever with God in the new heaven and earth that are foretold of in scripture. A thousand generations bowing down in worship, singing Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God almighty.
Many more New Covenant Bible Studies HERE. Jesus poured out His blood for the New Covenant of grace and truth, replacing the Old Covenant law of Moses. Believers are exclusively under the New Covenant, the last will and testament of Jesus that began after the cross.
And in the same way He took the cup after they had eaten, saying, "This cup which is poured out for you is the new covenant in My blood.” Luke 22:20
