Seven years ago, God called me from homosexuality after living as a spiritually content gay Christian for over 22 years. It felt as if being flung from the frying pan straight into the fire. The divine encounter instantly changed my entire worldview concerning both homosexuality and Christianity. I could have easily stolen Isaiah’s own words. After encountering God the ancient prophet wrote, “I’m a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips.” Nowadays, as I view search engine results relating to Christian pulpits, what God revealed to me almost a decade ago grows progressively truer every year.
At surface glance, organized Christianity seems to have God, Christ, salvation and eternity all boxed up in a neat little bow. But, get involved in the inner workings of almost any Christian church in America. Volunteer on its boards; join its choirs. But watch and pray, as you slowly digest The Message version of the Gospels. As sure as Satan purposefully sought out Eve, Christian iniquity will find you, too. Just don’t ignore it when it spews the latest church update. If you’re spiritually mature enough to bypass Christianity’s whitewashed sensationalism, you’ll eventually discover that a form of godliness that relentlessly battles against Christ’s pure Gospel.
Internet search engines give believers firsthand glimpses of the psychologically devastating doctrines lurking beneath the righteous façades greeting seasoned and prospective members, weekly. The Google search term, “pastor+sexual+abuse”, yielded thousands of accounts describing heinous sexual sins being committed against God’s faithful sheep by Christian shepherds aligned with almost everyone of its disjointed denominations.
Using the Google search term, “Christian+divorce,” yielded another vivid indicator of Christianity’s insanity. Search engines have produced a corrupt harvest of divorces involving internationally prominent Christian figureheads, Dr. Benny Hinn, Dr. Charles Stanley, Dr. John Hagee, Rev. Paula White, and Prophetess Juanita Bynum. Alongside other noted Christian shepherds, these sunken hypocrisies give significant rise to Christianity’s current, almost comatose spiritual state, as well. In fact, the most recent national statistics reflect that divorce rates among married Christians differ from non-Christians by only one percent. Meanwhile, ages ago, God emphatically declared through the prophet, Malachi, “’I hate divorce.’ ‘I hate the violent dismembering of the 'one flesh' of marriage.’(Malachi 2:16 MSG)”
Then, adding fuel to an already hypocritically hellish inferno, sightless shepherds systematically wield God’s Holy Word, completely absent of His undeserving grace. It’s leadership zealously utilizes targeted Scripture, like a harden inmate’s sharpened shank, until parents disown their young; until innocent children who haven’t even begun to live are more comfortable dead than in God’s sacred house of refuge – supposedly available to all people – per Christ. Such conduct isn’t reminiscent of justice. It’s hardly fairness and certainly, it’s not love. Therefore, it’s safe to conclude that it’s not God. I guess Christianity’s pulpit has been too busy attempting to shank the splinter from the homosexual’s eye to notice the trail of poison ivy unnaturally protruding from its own.
Long ago, Jesus vehemently defends my complaint today, when he declared to an eerily similarly zealous pulpit,
“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypo¬crites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of dead men’s bones and everything unclean. On the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wick¬edness.”
It doesn’t take a predestined prophet to foresee the future of the organized Christianity on display before us. God is once again cleaning house. He’s opening the eyes of blind believers everywhere. Young people today have more intelligence at their disposal to make wise decisions concerning faith, and the comedy of errors being increasingly exhibited by gifted pulpits only add to Christianity’s waning longevity. We’re starting to recognize today’s church for the carnal catastrophe that it so desperately tries to hide. But all it really takes is access to the Internet and search engines.
Search engines, ironically, help to prove that the lips of organized Christian pulpits today (to expound on Isaiah’s insightful revelation) are as unclean as the unrepented lips it dwells among.

A couple of 'run on sentences', but that may be intentional, for effect?
The weakest one would probably be #2 (unique and fresh). I've read several of your entries; you seem to have a clear agenda, but I wonder if a contest that's primarily about stretching your writing skills is the best forum? You're clearly a good writer; I'd love to see you branch out into entries that demonstrate your creativity.
You used the topic (#1) in an effective way. Good job.
There are many faults in organised Christianity; sometimes I feel physically ill when I think of the abuse that has occurred by those in higher places, especially when the hierarchy don't take appropriate steps to support the victims but rather try to sweep it under their sacred carpets.
I do honestly believe though that the majority of churches are truly seeking God and wanting to worship him as best we can in this broken world. We are human, after all, and have to trust that our puny efforts of worship and following God are acceptable to him - but even this is because we have Jesus' sacrifice and blood to cover us.
I applaud your courage and passion; we desperately need people with a heart for the things of God who aren't afraid to make a stand to keep us on the 'straight and narrow,' especially with the lurings of the WWW and its info-overload.
