When we examine “adolescence”
- If I may have your acquiescence -
This word that I will now expand
I hope that you will understand.
Don’t open up your dictionary,
- And let me be most arbitrary -
I humbly offer here to you
Some meanings that may be brand new.
Examine now this implication,
- If you allow some liberation -
By altering a few accents,
We could express: “Adult less sense”
Evaluate this clear description,
- If I may use an old encryption -
Another phrase we can review,
We could say, “Addled essence”, too
We must avoid the preconception.
- For clearly there will be exception -
But speaking from experience,
Some might suggest: “A dole (ful) stance”
Assessing modern youthful action,
- And measuring their satisfaction-
Another term that may make sense:
Is just to say: “A ‘due’ license”
Ok, I know what you are thinking
- I hope you see my eye is winking! -
Not every child in puberty
Matches my hyperbole.
One thing remains for contemplation,
On this I stake my reputation.
The definition I like best:
“Beloved by God, despite the mess!”
