Did you know that in 1761 fifteen years before the USA came to be the colonists were loyal British subjects? From Maine to Georgia, the colonies were distinctly English in character although Scots, Welsh, Irish, Dutch, Swedes, Finns, Africans, French, Germans and Swiss as well as English had settled them. To me that is very interesting.
The United States is a beacon of liberty to many. The people of this great nation are not joined together by religion, race or genealogy but by a shared set of beliefs about freedom. The fortieth President Ronald Regan said, “After 200 years the United States is still a beacon, still a magnet for all who must have freedom, for all the pilgrims from all the lost places who are hurtling through the darkness, toward home.”
The founding fathers of this great nation were determined that all would have freedom to pursue the life they chose. I love what the Declaration of the United States says. “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their CREATOR with certain unalienable Rights that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”
We the people of this nation are willing to fight to preserve freedom. A dictator or an oppressor should not rule people. People should have the right to choose how they wish to live. Another human being does not have the right to take anything from another human being unless it has been earned.
Now, I am very upset with the government and the fact they just passed a bill giving illegal aliens the right to draw social security without paying anything into it. We the people of this great and wonderful nation have worked long and hard for that privilege and the government is giving that right to people who, in my opinion, have not earned it.
I love my home and the United States of America is my home. The words of America the Beautiful say it all. The lyrics, “America! America! God shed His grace on thee, and crown thy good with brotherhood from sea to shining sea,” is my sentiments exactly.

We live in a nation that has been founded on freedom with liberty and justice for all. I hope and pray that this great and wonderful country will continue to fight for the right to be free and that this nation with the help of God shall forever continue to let freedom ring.
