My spirit leaps with joy and my heart plays a song
‘He’s coming for me!’ That’s all I can say;
On this, my Royal, Spiritual Wedding Day!
I’ve been ready for many a year,
And oft of the delay, I’ve shed a tear.
He said “Not now, for we must wait…
You have more to learn, to set you straight.”
“But I want to be with you now, my Lord
I want to be where my Heavenly happiness has been stored.”
“Not yet, my Beloved, it is not time
For My Joy in you has yet to shine”
“But I’m gowned in a robe so snowy white,
My purity I’ve kept for you, for that special night!”
“Soon, I’ll come for you and this we’ll say:
‘Oh what a Royal, Spiritual Wedding day!’
My Bridegroom has come for me at last!
I can hear the archangels’ trumpet blast
The angels are singing a glorious refrain
No more must I experience life’s bitter pain.
My Bridegroom adorns me in purple silk that reflects the light
He takes me in His arms and embraces me tight.
“My child, my beloved, at last you will see;
You are crowned as Holy Royalty
When you allowed for Me to shine through your heart
You shared of ME, from the start
“Hallelujah My Lord, Hallelujah my Savior!
For in your eyes, I have found favor!”
Oh, it is just what you always did say!
‘We will have a Royal, Spiritual Wedding Day!”

There was some variance in them rhythm of the poem and I re-read it out loud without the word "Spiritual" and it "felt" more powerful personally.
Great effort, I hope this does well :)
Also, there were just a couple of lines where the rythm was a bit out of kilter compared to the rest of th piece.
However, I thought your message was excellent and you have an obvious gift. Keep writing. You did a wonderful job!!
I'd love to have you stop by the "Jan's Poetry Class" forum on the message boards. We're having a thread each week on a different kind of poetry, and I also frequently cover the meter issues that other commenters have mentioned. We'd love to have your input!
Great use of the topic word!
