Topic: Funny (10/04/12)
It’s one of those days when life is funny,
Warm and fuzzy like the Easter Bunny,
I find myself laughing at the silliest things,
So hard my sides are splitting it seems.

I love these times when I’m feeling good,
Giggling, grinning, and misunderstood,
People look as if I’ve gone quite mad,
When I smile in the face of attempts gone bad.

I can’t help myself but to laugh you see,
All things work together for the good of me,
I can’t see the cloud for the silver lining,
Beyond dark skies the sun is shining.

I once was something of a gloomy Gus,
Depressed with life and making a fuss,
But I’ve learned to laugh at life’s little woes,
That once frustrated me down to my toes.

I had an eventful time yesterday,
Seemed like every pitfall came my way,
Best laid plans all going wrong,
So I sang myself a funny song.

One might ask how I can be cheery,
Why circumstances don’t make me weary,
It’s just that I found my humorous sense,
Once Jesus Christ became my friend.

This is a fun and light-hearted poem but has a beautiful message in it. It is true that we set the tone of our lives and how we approach them can make such a difference. Though a couple of your rhymes didn't exactly rhyme the message came through loud and clear and it didn't really matter if every line rhymed. You definitely were on topic and did a nice job with this piece.

I always LOVE your positive outlook on life. You truly are an inspiration and this poem is an absolute tribute to not only your sense of humor, but how you view life. Excellent rhythm in this poem although there are a couple of places where there isn't a true rhyme, but outside that, this was a wonderful entry and so very on topic. Excellent writing!
