ADD TO MY FAVORITES
and held you in our arms,
we wept with joy for the blessing of you.
The memory of your first small step,
ushering in toddler hood
is hung in our hearts with a tear and a smile.
A happy/sad tear is yet recalled
of the day we kissed you,
and sent you off to school.
As the fleeting moments of childhood faded,
and graduation day emerged,
tears of pride gathered in the upturned corners of our lips.
So now the day approaches for you to leave the nest,
tears for years too quickly gone
mingle with the prayers we send with you:
Wings to soar and radar to guide you through the storms.
On this anniversary of your birth,
our pride and joy overflows,
and we thank God for all the years of love and tears...
The same as we did on the day you were born.
May all your tears be as sweet as ours!
