Years ago.
Of life’s dimples.
Short tales that crimple.
While hard and simple.
Many days ago.
Hindsight,
Why wouldn’t my might see beyond its flight?
Of careless mistakes.
Noon breaks.
Of time wasted with no second takes.
Many clock hands ago.
Wisdom said,
My brighter ideas wed.
Of preconceived theories.
Hours of wearies.
Catch fire in series.
Many blazing vows ago.
Wisdom will whisper.
Will I hear?
Of nugget truth.
Rolling hills of knowledge sleuth.
Mountains of wisdom generous in couth.
Many trails missed.
Will He send me the one?
An eloquent tongue?
A disciple for my salvation?
By God’s grace, no retaliation.
Of my days lost in calculation.
Many sweet graces yet to come.
My heart’s door will open.
My ears once covered,
Will open channels.
To languid canals.
And now, illuminated mantles.
Many mercies resound His calls.
Never too late,
To co-labor with fate.
Only Jesus needs to know.
Of past sin repented, no longer in tow.
Spindle His mercy and grace to grow.
Many eternal treasures aglow.
‘Make your ear attentive to wisdom,
Incline your heart to understanding.’
Proverbs 2:2 NASB
