Day 275: Wow! Where did the time go? Oh dear. I got so caught up in my little world. Today, for sure…
Day 277: Oh. Um. Sorry about that. I’m still here, I promise. I guess that cat-nap I planned turned into hibernation. Ugh. Has that ever happened to you? Oh, it has. Whew! I feel better about it then. Again I apologise.
Let me get back to you on a final date. I can promise no more than a week, honest. Hand to heart.
Day 279: Yeah, yeah. I know the deadline is tomorrow. I’ve got your back.
Day 281: Hey… so that deadline… it was flexible, right? I’m not sure what happened.
I know you’re upset. But look at it this way, the product is definitely worth the wait! Don’t you remember the pictures you got a couple of months ago? Remember how happy you were with the creation? Well, I have been working on improvements since then and I can guarantee you won’t be disappointed.
Look, just another week, ok? You’ve waited this long, what’s another few days?
OK, I understand that you’ll be consulting with your expert, but I can assure you that you won’t need their intervention.
Day 285: Almost done.
Day 287: “All right Lauren. Push. I can see hair! Your baby has hair! Give me one big push. I know, there is the burn, but push through it. The head is out, Lauren, You’re almost there! Here come the shoulders!
Lauren, you have a beautiful son! Wasn’t he worth the wait? I know that extra week seemed like a lifetime – but I’m glad you decided to let nature take its course.
(A normal human pregnancy is 280 days. Most obstetricians will let a mother carry for an additional seven to 14 days before choosing to intervene with induction or c-section.)
