Much like a hurricane.
He’s not prepared for studying—
He’s here to entertain.
The silk slapstick he enacts,
His much-used tricks of trade.
The teacher even smiles at times
For comments he has made.
He loves to make the students laugh.
He’s a comedic star.
He can be really funny if
He doesn’t go too far,
Like mimicry, embarrassing,
Or crudeness in his jokes
Or denigrating sacred things
Inside the fun he pokes.
Though he might tease and torment some,
He isn’t often mean.
He does such irritating things
Just so he will be seen.
Delights he in getting attention,
The good kind or the bad.
You’d never know, how he behaves,
If he is ever sad.
His crazy acts may be a front
For hurt that’s in his heart.
Despite the stupid things he does,
He can be very smart.
Sometimes he isn’t likable
With broad bombast and boast,
But when he’s difficult to love,
That’s when he needs it most.
