Size just suited for me.
Me who is thirty nine years of age;
An age well past kids shoes.
Shoes that are multi-colored and light up with crimson heels;
Heels that make the shoes look tacky to see;
Seeing is believing, the commercials say;
I say “Who cares?” It’s the worldly way;
Ways of the world are shop to you drop;
Drop because of exhaustion or debt.
A debt that can be paid back.
Back still they go again though to shop;
Shop…shopping…they even do that as they search for God;
“God will be in this church.” They say;
“Say, let’s try this one next week.” They go from one to the next.
Next thing you know, they are in spiritual det so deep;
Deep, deeper, they go, and there’s no place to go;
Going nowhere, the debt is so much;
Much pain, but there is a pinpoint of love;
Love? Will they take it? Will they ‘shop’ for that one last time?
Time will tell, but what about you?
You who are sitting there on the fence.
Are you just shopping for shoes, or you shopping for a God?
God is true…no more shopping. He loves you.
