TITLE: "Shoot the Pirates!"
By Yvonne Blake

Wake up! Wake up!
It's not night-time anymore.
Your breath stinks.
Guess what?
My bed was wet,
But it's okay - I put all the stuff in the hamper.
I'm hungry.
Do we have any Cereo's?
I want the blue bowl.
I can pour the milk by myself.
Uh oh!
It's okay - Ruffy will lick it up.
Hey, look!
It rained last night.
I can wear my new boots.
Ahhh, Mom . . . I can put my jacket on by myself.
Will you zip it?
Look at me jump in that huge puddle.
I can jump all the way over it.
Ruffy knocked me down.
I've got a boo-boo on my hand!
It's bleeding!
I'm all muddy and cold.
Can I take a bath?
Look at me! I'm swimming! I'm a whale!
Giggle - I got your hair wet.
Sorry, Mom.
Is it time to watch Power Heroes yet?
Zooooom! Power Heroes to the rescue!
Uh oh!
Sorry, Mom.
I think you can fix it. I found all the pieces.
I'm hungry.
I don't want tuna fish.
I like peanut butter.
I can do it all by myself.
Uh oh!
It's okay. Ruffy will lick it up.
Do you know where my blue super sparkly bouncy ball is?
It's not under the couch,
But I did find an apple core and a sock.
I found it!
It was at the bottom of my toy box.
Hey, look! There's my whistle.
What did you say?
I'm too big for a nap, Mom.
Can I call up Billy to come over and play?
Ahhh, Mom . . . I know how to do it.
Hi, Billy. We have to play outside.
Let's pretend the tree house is island surround by alligators.
Mom! It's raining again.
Oh no!
Ruffy, you got us all wet!
Look at this huge frog we found!
Ahhh, Mom . . . He'd make a great pet.
Can we make a fort with the blankets?
Shoot the pirates!
Throw the booty overboard!
Uh oh!
Shhhhh . . . Don't tell Mom.
Let's play with the Lergos.
The best way is to dump them all out.
Did you ever see this many?
Cool robot space-car!
Ahhh, Mom . . . Does Billy have to go home right now?
I'm tired of picking up toys.
Work, work, work!
Billy doesn't have to work at his house.
I'm hungry.
Don't put onions or mushrooms on mine.
I want to stay up and watch "Beware of the Buccaneers."
It's not fair!
Billy doesn't go to bed this early.
I'm not sleepy.
Can I have a drink of water?
There's something hitting the window.
Can Ruffy sleep with me?
I need the door open.
No, close it more.
Can I have another hug?
I love you.

I don't know what else to say but it's perfect! I got tired just reading it. Such a fun and creative idea!

Brilliant. A great idea for this topic. WHo'd me a Mum? - guess we all would, despite the weariness!
Verna Cole Mitchell 05/10/12
I remember those days. You captured well why Moms get weary.
C D Swanson 05/11/12
Hahahahahahahahahaha! This was great! And, pertinent to this upcoming Mother's day.

This was delightfully entertaining to read and all of the mother's reading it will relate big time.

Thanks for this clever entry.
Happy Mother's day.

God Bless~

Laury Hubrich 05/12/12
Love your title:) I think every mother can relate to this. It is a very wearisome entry. I think I'll take a nap. haha;) Cute!
Ellen Carr 05/13/12
Very creatively written. I could feel the 'frenzy'. How many children were there? It seemed like a lot! I hope she gets to put her feet up for a while. Well done.

Amanda Brogan05/16/12
It's hard to imagine anything much more wearying than children. And yet, as you showed at the end, it's eventually worth all of the craziness.

Very cute! Great for the topic.

I'll have to give credit to Laury, who urged me and prodded me to submit something, even though I was weary from babysitting my grandkids.
Linda Goergen05/17/12
Congratulations on your HC! This was terrific, you have truly written “weary to the bone”, as anyone knows after spending a day keeping up with an energetic child! Unique idea…loved how being weary from babysitting your grandchildren inspired you to write such a fun and true to life piece! Great job!
Nancy Sullivan 05/17/12
Congratulations on your HC, Yvonne. I could see the faces of our three grandsons all over this. So clever and so true! God bless.
