1-800-El-Elyon

Hello? Yes Lord itís me. Donít hang up. Iím not calling to complain this time. I still donít understand why youíre allowing all these trials in my life, but if you forgive me Iím determined to stop asking for reasons and return to being Your trusting, faithful child. The energy I have wasted worrying and wondering keeps leaving me exhausted, probably the same effect my grumbling is causing You.

I want to thank you for the 800 number. I couldnít afford to pay for the time I spend crying and complaining to you each day about my situation. Actually, it was that phone number that Your Holy Spirit used to get to my heart. El-Elyon, ďThe Lord Most High,Ē brought an end to my whining and made me realize that as usual, you are in control of every aspect of my life. You have a purpose for allowing things to happen in my life, and You will reveal Your purpose, in Your time, not mine.

Last night, as I lay awake once again I thought of the trials that others around me are having to endure. I thought of Carol and her five children and the pain they are going through due to a cheating husband and father. You brought Donna, the ninety-year old saint at our church, to my mind. She is so faithful to you despite her debilitating skin condition. Last but not least I thought about Andrew. Paralyzed from the chest down in an explosion last year in Iraq. This young manís testimony is a blessing to everyone who meets him.

By comparison Lord, Iíve come to the realization that, my problems donít even deserve to take up Your precious time. I know that Your Word tells us to bring all our cares before You, but in light of the suffering going on in my small little world I know that my lack of faith is the real issue here.

OhÖEl-ElyonÖI confess my lack of faith and humbly beg Your forgiveness. Please send me the bill for this callÖSave the 800 number for people who have real problems to bring before You.

A wonderful and heart felt prayer. Beautiful. I know sometimes we feel God would hang up on us when we call on Him but He never will with the heart you show through this submission. And He does care about our littlest problems.
Creative and masterful. Great job in pulling so much insight into the challenge topic.

Thank goodness we don't need an 800 number to talk with God. Very well done. Thank you.
