velvets, satins,
silks and crepes
red's the fashion
on all shapes
spouting, spraying
shooting high
lava rockets
into the sky
heart-shaped boxes
crimson roses
cards and candy
loving proses
cherry
floating on the top
tasty fun
on soda pop
Midwest funnel
straw & tin
it's Dorothy's shoes
that draws you in
tulips, roses
and carnations
pop and brighten
all occasions
fire! fire!
flames ablaze
smoke inferno
sky's a haze
mid-aged women
in scarlet hats
have hot flashes
sassy cats
a good red wine
so sublime
when sipped slowly
just divine
big red button
missile heading
alarm! alert!
we're not kidding
firecrackers
cherry pie
flags a waving
4th of July!
autumn leaves
dance around
flitting, flying
to the ground
tempers, tantrums
heated words
punches, blows
angry birds
feathered hat
ruby shoes
bold pink handbag
"social news"
candy canes
hot red hots
M & M's
and lollipops
old ford trucks
painted barns
tractors, wagons
country farms
red carpet stars
strut their fashion
posing for the
cameras flashing
Thai chili peppers
mouths on fire
causing you
to perspire
this won't hurt
just a prick
blood fills a tube
make it quick
rosy cheeks
hot pink lips
auburn hair
bold fingertips
Rudolph's nose
leads the way
for Santa Clause
in his sleigh
Christmas eve
a magic night
our savior's born
starlight bright
washed white as snow
with blood so red
from his side
for us, he bled
the Savior gave
his life for me
hanging from
a rough-hewn tree
