We know how to guard our hearts and minds from such sickness and yet, a quick , sharp sliver of a word can stab our healthy mind-set rendering us a wounded, idle journey-man. And because we are human, we can also be the one who delivers such a blow! Once caught, it is easy (and encouraged by the enemy) to dwell on “oh how could I have been so foolish to accept that”, or “oh how could I have been so unkind to say that”. Good thing grace happens!! But say the name of Jesus, come before Him in thanksgiving, ask forgiveness and celebrate grace, and it is finished. No more wounds, soul sickness gone and purpose restored.
Psalm 45:1 reads: My heart overflows with a good theme…my tongue is the pen of a ready writer. When the Holy Spirit is hovering, and stirring us, our pen has a divine purpose. Not just fluffy Hallmark card words but the stuff of Life!
If there was an app for such a thing as an “angel express club”, I would use it and divinely make a deposit into your heart’s account. Well, would you look at that – there IS an app for that (just kidding). Here is your first deposit:
Slow down.. be still and listen for Me.. seek the kingdom first. Give thanks. Ask. Speak truth and life and grace. Praise loudly. Sing your own song to the Lord as a gift of worship. Shine light. Be salt. Smile often. Laugh more. Feel deeply. Trust enough to take a chance. Forgive. Receive forgiveness. Encourage yourself in the Lord. Encourage others. Be merciful. Be grace-full. Be joy-filled. Be faith-filled. Be a cup of cool-water restoration. Be open to the Holy Spirit’s touch. Consider the beauty of God’s creation every day. Free fall into the arms of Jesus and restore your balance. Read His Word like a love letter. Write Him back! Be hopeful and helpful. Use your gifts to share the Gospel. Believe His Presence lives within you. Believe His promises are yes and amen! Believe you are loved. Believe you are highly favored. Believe soon and very soon we will see The King.
Hope this deposit has your heart’s account overflowing!

So well stated. Our words can make or break a heart.
Just a tiny slather of red ink: Some quotation marks will help in clarifying scripture quotes.
Thank you for pouring goodness into us today. {{{smile}}} Happy writing.
The lengthy paragraph at the end contains so much that it was difficult to read with any kind of flow--after a while, it was just a list. I wonder if it would be more effective to have fewer items, and to give examples of each.
A few suggestions about your punctuation.
The periods need to be inside the quotation marks. Also a coma before the quotation. I am new but have been working to know all this myself.
Great Article.
Congrats!
