“Lord, what has happened to your people?”
“Tell Me your thoughts, child.”
“Your church, Your people, Your Bride has lost something.”
“My daughter, what is it?”
“We have let the world creep in. We are complacent. No endurance. Overly tolerant. Too comfortable. Full of self. We have forgotten our first love.”
“Why would you say that?”
“Everywhere I look, I can’t get away from it. Your people are tripping over gnats, and running into elephants.”
“My beloved, what do you see?”
“A people more interested with the outside of the cup, rather than the inside. A people that seek Your hand, and not Your face. A people more fascinated with a building, rather than Your Bride. A people deeply rooted in religion, but no heart. A people trying to attain holiness through service and position, rather than through brokenness and repentance. Where are the men and women that will stand in Your refining fire?”
“Patience, my love. Your zeal pleases Me. But, You must allow Me to do the work. There is a remnant. What I am about to do has never been done before. I will have a Bride without spot or wrinkle. My church will be Holy and without blemish. I will write My plan on their hearts and in their minds. It will no longer be on paper or stone. They will BE my Living Word. They will be my people, and I will be their God.”
“Father, where do I fit in this? I do not feel I belong in the world, and I do not feel I belong in the church. I feel something different, something new. But, I’ve never been this way before. How shall I tread?
“My Dear, your faith will produce patience. Stay repentant. Keep on the path of meekness. Be gentle. Reside in an attitude of humility. Tread gently, but with boldness, for I am with You. Whomever loses his life for My sake, will find it.”
“Lord, only You can accomplish in me what needs to be done. Give me endurance to step into the refining fire once again.”
“My precious one, it is done already. My Bride is about to arrive.”
