"The END" It sounds so final when you say it out loud doesn't it, THE END. Those three little letters invoke such fear in my heart. I was moments away from finding out what could quite possibly be the worst news of my of my life and here I was talking to myself again. To be completely honest though I was really talking to GOD which I find my self doing more often these days. How could this be happening to me and why now. I had spent most of my adult life trying to be in complete control of everything in my life and now it was spiraling out of control and there was nothing I could do about it. As I sat in the cold isolated waiting room I dreaded what news my doctor wold tell me. Would it be good news,or would it be bad news. As I sat there cold, alone and talking to myself I could hear his foot steps as they whisper silently making their way back to the room I was held captive in, and as if by magic he was there, outside my room, My life dangling in his hands."please God let my test come back clear" Cancer had always been a concern to me because several of my family members suffered at the hands of this compassion-less killer. "I will go to church on Sunday and twice on Monday, just please let me be okay. The prayers and promises went on for what seemed to be forever, My Doctor must have heard my ranting because the foot steps I had heard only moments ago were no more and I could see his thin hollow frame under the cracks of the door, He said nothing so, He must have heard people making their plea to God a million times before but that did not stop my conversation with God so I continued on, "God please let me be okay and I promise I will be a saint. I will walk the christian walk and talk the christian talk. You will be forever impressed by my christian ways. Just as I was thinking of more ways I could prove my undying love for him, The door opened... as if by magic. Startled by the sudden interruption my focus was drawn to the door,and there he was but it was not only my Doctors presence that demanded my full attention it was the bright lite illuminating from behind him. I wiped my eyes to clear them as if what I was seeing was an allusion of some sorts but when I took a second look after clearing my eyes the light was still there "oh my God" I gasped "you do hear me" I blurted out. "What" DR Morgan said are you all right? "I'm Fine now" I spoke with such confidence. I know everything will be okay from here on out. As I proceeded to gather my belongings , My doctor watched me puzzled by my strange behavior. Ms Soulful don't you want to know the results of your cancer test" " I already do I said" smiled and left his office. For the first time in a long time I knew for sure that everything would with out a doubt be okay. Several weeks later I received what I assumed to be the bill for the doctors visit but when I opened that little piece of mail it was the results of my test the test that I was so sure was okay because God sent me a sign straight from the heavens above, The test told me what I had already knew that I was clear of any cancer or cancer cells. I smiled gave a wink to the man above and headed out to church.... for the second time that Monday.
