Did it begin with Him calling my name when I was but a child?
Was it with the fear of where my eternity would be,
Or was it with love in knowing the Creator cared for me?
What means of persuasion will be necessary to win your heart?
How will He convince you of His kingdom to be a part?
Will it be fear of death or loss of a loved one,
Or will it be through a love you have never known?
Fear brought me to question and wonder about tomorrow,
But love brought me to this rock that shields me in all sorrow
So it’s ok to remember the school of fear, the beginning of wisdom,
Understanding bathed in love which graduated me to glorious freedom
Deliverance from the evil master that brings followers down
Through doubt, unbelief, and turns all smiles to frowns
So what means of persuasion does my Lord need to solicit
To turn your fear to wisdom and a heart filled with His Spirit
Will it be a fire, a flood, a loss, or unknown tragedy
That wakes you to the need for eternal security?
After the earthquake, fire, flood or raging wind
He finds a way to quiet the soul by speaking within
Perhaps it will only take a whisper to reach your heart’s ear
A still small voice that lets you know the Spirit is very near
The persuasion of Jesus is a jewel beyond compare
One of which with you I earnestly desire to share
His unmeasurable love will fill your longing soul
With love for Him and others as to Him you closer grow
