Put into words how she made your heart sing
Capture in a line ¡°that look¡± in her eyes
How could you ever express with a phrase
why everything near her beamed?
Maybe we could start
by trying to count the expressions unique to her face . . .
what a wealth of personality wrapped up in one being
Could we ever summarize the magic in the sound of her voice?
Or try to explain how her smile just danced in her pretty blue eyes?
Of course, we can¡¯t.
Because sometimes a miracle can only be described
in a language of the heart,
not one of the tongue.
So I will not attempt the impossible here today.
And I think that¡¯s ok.
Because every heart here and around the world touched by the incredible beauty of this one amazing hero of the faith, is communicating right now heart to heart.
And it doesn¡¯t stop there.
It is not only between our hearts here on earth,
but going from ours
straight to the center of hers, in her new home
and finally, on to the heart of our Beloved Father,
Who must be so full of excitement and joy to finally have his sweet daughter home with Him .
So, we can rest. Our inexpressible admiration and gratitude are being felt, even now. We don¡¯t have to be able to put it into words. We don¡¯t need the words. We can simply rest . . . rest knowing that hers is a vibrant testimony of the impact of a woman resurrected to newness of life here on earth and victorious even in death.
Yes, we can rest. For even our Lord suffered the pain of separation in His resurrection, leaving those who loved Him behind for a time, but it was not a departure of defeat. Hallelujah! It was a departure of victory. . . just as her departure is for us today. Great is the victory!
The victory of her life is difficult to sum up because the priceless miracle of this incredible woman has touched me in the truest part of my soul.
She reached beyond any pretense
and loved me unguardedly. . . whole-heartedly.
She showered my life with glimpses of Heaven just in being with her and motivated me to overcome any obstacle in order to reach God¡¯s best.
So let¡¯s remember her today.
Our miracle
Our victorious one
Our sweet example of a life wholly surrendered to her first love, Jesus Christ.
We have every cause for rejoicing.
How sweet it must be to her ears and to the ears of our most precious Father to hear us, as one voice, rejoicing over her life as it touched each of ours.
Hers was a life that said:
No love compels like the love of our Father
No life compares to one in His arms
And nothing completes us besides Him.
Thank you, Jesus, for our touch of Heaven on earth.
Tell her that we love her.
Our hearts are full. They speak for us today.
