Sunday morning. Oh man, I have to go to church today. What am I going to wear? I wonder if the pastor will talk about something that will make me uncomfortable. I’ll bet there will be a retiring offering for some missionary somewhere who needs a well dug. I hope the songs will be my favorites, the ones that make me happy. I don’t like to sing the ones that don’t make me feel good. I hope the service is over quick, I have so much to do. Sundays are the only days I get to do what I want to do. But, I made a promise I would go to church every Sunday this year. Dumb resolutions.
I hope I don’t have to site next to that old man who is one line behind the rest of the congregation when he sings. He smells old. He looks old.
It’s all about me.

Sunday Morning. Sundays are so much fun. I get to see my friends I haven’t seen all week. It’s like God’s social club. Sure the pastor preaches, we sing, and we pray some, but seeing my friends is what church is all about.
I get to hear the latest from Sally. Susie fills me in on all the stuff that is going on in PTA. Oh yes, then there’s Betty. She lets all of us know what is going on in the churches office. Who came in for counseling, who said what to whom.
I hope pastor doesn’t run long winded today. I really need to talk to my friends and get connected again. I can’t wait to see what new outfits every one wears.
It’s all about me and my friends. Relationship – you know?

Sunday Morning. Good Morning Lord, thank You for this day! Thank You for the honor of serving You and spending time in worship with Your children today. Father, be with Pastor today as he prepares to speak Your Word. Let it be all about You. May Your Words come forth from him.
I need to spend some time with You before I go Lord. Prepare my heart to hear Your still small voice today. Humble me. Help me to reach out to Your children who are hurting. Use me Father.
Thank You for Your Word and how accessible it is to me. Thank You for giving me time to study it and to dig for treasures in it. Thank You for making it fresh every day.
Help me to gather with friends and strangers today and worship You. Help me to focus on the pastors words and to apply them to my life this week.
May the songs we sing bring honor and glory to Your Name. Thank You for Your Son and all He has done for us. Thank You for Your forgiveness. Thank You for Your mercy and grace.
Father, as we gather to worship in Your House today, may we bring You honor and glory.
It’s all about Him.
