As Mankind’s shadow falls across the floor, he examines the material on which he steps. He notices a crunching sound as he walks lightly on what the Artist calls “grass.” This lush green “grass” is spiky with a pliable consistency. Mankind takes in all this about the “grass,” and the Artist whispers into his soul, “It is good.”
As his eyes look up from his feet, they discover what the Artist calls a “tree.” Mankind’s hand grazes the rough texture of the base of the tree. As his hand travels upward, it reaches many small tear-shaped “leaves” seemingly made from the same substance as the “grass” but larger and rounder in size. Mankind takes in all this about the “tree,” and the Artist whispers into his soul, “It is good.”
Mankind leaves the “tree” to explore other pieces of art. As he turns away from the “tree,” he trips on one of its roots. Falling softly on the “grass,” Mankind finds a new appreciation for the springy, green spikes. As he lies on his back, he stares at the ceiling of the art gallery. What the Artist calls “sky” is a light, baby blue with white cotton balls scattered throughout. Mankind takes in all this about the “sky,” and the Artist whispers into his soul, “It is good.”
Sitting up, Mankind looks around at some other interesting creations, noticing what the Artist calls a “dandelion” in particular. He strokes its soft, yellow pedals and notices how just this one piece of art is uniquely bright and beautifully intricate. Mankind takes in all this about the “dandelion,” and the Artist whispers into his soul, “It is good.”
All too soon, Mankind, like a child, grows bored of his surroundings. This is very unfortunate because he has only just skimmed the surface of God’s art gallery. If only Mankind would see the beauty in each work of art, even in the weeds of life scattered about.
Only when mankind appreciates it all, can we join the Artist in saying, “It is good.”
