Life left her breathless everywhere,
Failing always to be like the crowd,
Loneliness left her crying out loud.
Another place, perhaps another time,
There was no reason, there was no rhyme,
Seeking for somewhere to be herself,
She sought solace on a darkened shelf.
Clearly this wasn't the way to belong,
Dancing to the beat of a distant song,
Her family shuddered as if she was strange,
Normal was something she couldn't arrange.
Lost in journey on an alternate road,
Life seemed at times too heavy a load,
Walking through life destined alone,
She paved a path all of her own.
Finding her way to a place called Hell,
Seeing at last a space she could dwell,
Although at first she seemed to fit in,
She carried the sorrow of living in sin.
What had become of the little girl,
With lovely dreams of a beautiful world?
She had loved all things moral and right,
And talked to Jesus every night.
How she dreamed of her lost childhood,
And the notion to be understood,
Surely someone must deem her worthy,
She prayed for God to show her mercy.
One dark day while she was in tears,
There came a beacon to lighten her fears,
She imagined an angel with a halo,
But saw it was Jesus' face all aglow.
Sharing her sorrows with Christ for awhile,
She found a reason to laugh and smile,
He said He had carried her all along,
Such comfort made her soul sing strong.
Her Savior took her by the hand,
And led her out of that hellish land,
Her spirit soared with great elation,
She'd finally found her destination.
He shined a path to show her the way,
And saved her soul unto this day,
A child was reborn as He washed her sin,
Now wherever she is, she rightly fits in.
