Topic: Weary (05/03/12)
A long week has slowly come and gone

Sick,tired,not much accomplished or done

Barely got out of bed and made it to work and back

Felt like I was on autopilot and kept asking God to pick up the slack

Finally,today,I awoke and felt stronger,almost well

I knew it was the Lord;His sweet presense was there,I could tell

It was time to get up and go back to work for You!

To remember Your promises,Jesus,and a special thought too

A day when I was looking at a green meadow above the snowline

And then You told me,Lord,about a future day and time

When we'd walk the new Earth,all the believers there together

There'd be no illness,infirmity or inclement weather

We'll gather together in Jerusalem to worship at Your holy throne

Then we'll go across the new Earth,to explore and hike and roam

Together with You forever,our bodies glorified and strong

Mountains to climb,streaams to cross,as we breathe in air so pure and sweet

We'll never grow old,painful or tired as we walk on new and glorified feet

We'll serve and worship You,have great things to see and to do

We'll meet friends and relatives,acquaintences old and new

The new Earth and God's promises are calling to us,somewhere in that future day

But for now I pray for strength to stand and wait as I make my way

Tired,sometimes weary and discouraged but comforted by Your love

The best days are just ahead,soon and very soon,God's covenant from above

This is really lovely. I like the spot about the new earth, even though I'm familiar with that verse in the Bible, I often forget it and it's nice to be reminded. If you hit preview before submit, it will show you how your piece will appear to the reader and you can fix those spacing problems that often happen when you paste and copy the piece onto the form. You did a lovely job with this.

That was an enjoyable read. Very nice and a great reminder for those days when we just fell "weary".
