I chase a fleeting mind.
No matter how far up I go
There’s still a lot to climb.
Run in tiny circles
Getting nowhere fast.
With no one to lift me up
I don’t think I will last.
I stumbled all around this world
Trying to do my best.
Looking for “where credits do”
See if I pass the test.
There is a haunting echo
In all the words they say.
Not one has cheered me on
Much to my dismay.
Now I sit here broken
I guess I will give up.
I’ve lost it all I have
Except this drinking cup.
This man in white approached me
And asked me how I felt.
I told Him of my thirst for life
Then on His knees He knelt.
He said, “I am the living water
I will quench your thrust.”
He filled my cup with His blood
My sins He took them first.
Then He stood me up
Drying my teary eye.
He said He’s watching my attempts
He sees my every try.
He held me as He whispered
“You are above all things.”
This brought peace to my soul
Causing my heart to sing.
With His touch I was awakened
The truth He helped me see.
“Well done my son” is all He said.
His approval was given me.
I look around my room
Not one thing was the same.
I’ve felt the touch of God.
I found He knows my name.
He is always beside me
Lifts me when I fall.
With His recognition
This winner will take all.
