I felt that because of my fever that maybe I was hallucinating, because I had never been to a women’s conference. I had no idea of what to do, or even how to start one. After the bout with the flu, I called a woman whom I knew to see if she could help me start one. She said no, but did know someone that was capable of giving me the kind of help I needed.
We had our first conference in April of 2004, with a count of 400 women attending. We went under the umbrella of a Christian organization for the first two years. On June 30th of 2006, we applied for our own non-profit, with the letter giving us this status July 15, 2006.
We have had many women come forward to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord, but the one that was an encouragement to all of us came on a Saturday morning.
This lady had been brought by friends on Friday, and we could tell that she did not like this at all. As our main speaker began to give her message, she became very uneasy. She was the first one out of the door at the end of the evening.
The next morning she came back and gave her suicide letter and pills to the Speaker, that spoke on Friday night. Her comment was "Here; I don’t need these any more.” She is now a faithful member of a Church in our area.
