Jump to be part of your church retreat,
Enjoy the fellowship that can’t be beat,
Growing closer to Him and His family,
A mountaintop experience helps us see,
Great vacations are like a family retreat,
Rest, Relax and see the sights so neat,
Go up on a mountain or down by the sea,
Loving each other making many a memory,
Our daily prayer is our personal retreat,
Time for us, Jesus and His Father to meet,
Start with praise and thanks for sweet mercy,
Confession comes before our every plea,
Here's an idea that will improve your private personal relationship with our Heavenly Father. Write your own prayer(s), or at least parts of it. Use the ACTS acrostic as your guideline. Write only part of your daily prayer as the C & S parts change from day to day, and putting specific confessions in writing may not be advisable.
Adoration – How many ways can we tell God we adore Him? A daily reminder helps us.
Confession – Be honest to yourself and to Him. This brings healing (see James 5:15-17).
Thanksgiving – The power Praise & Thanksgiving are immeasurable.
Supplication. - Philippians 4:6 (KJV) Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Study the prayer Jesus taught us and you’ll find all parts of ACTS. Writing out prayers while taking time to listen for God’s Holy Spirit is an enlightening experience. This will help you pray through the times in life when you do not know how to pray.
Do not hesitate to use scripture in your prayers as His Words are extremely powerful. You may opt to use His promises in your prayers such as: The Holy Bible says that You will be there when two or more are gathered together, so help us feel Your presence.
You may also want your family to write a family prayer(s). Something short to start the day, something for before or after meals, or for before or after bedtime prayers, or something for your weekly family time. You may write one to be your family motto.
A mountaintop retreat is something we all need,
Christ Jesus made time to meet with God indeed,
Let’s humble ourselves, and admit we are weak,
Stop, be still, and listen for God Almighty to speak.
Truth is that sometimes – prayer gently re-aligns our thinking to match His will.
