Lord, wake me up each morning,
And let me rise when I am able,
Give thanks for my warm place to live And food that’s on my table.
I may not have a castle,
But a simple roof over my head,
At least I’m not out on the streets
With pavement as my bed.
I may not have filet mignon
Or food that is the best,
But, I can make a humble meal
To appease a hungry guest.
Little money in the bank,
Empty pockets hear my plea,
That if HE will care for little birds,
HE will surely care for me.
Please help me to grow my money,
Not be overextended with loans,
Take greed and envy from my heart
Of “keeping up with the Jones’ “.
My car is not the latest,
And I stretch to make ends meet,
But I do have transportation,
Something other than my feet.
Won’t lean on my own understanding,
I will trust in you O’ God,
And when I feel I cannot go on,
You’ll give me a gentle prod.
My God you’ll
not forsake me,
And you’ll show
me the way
Of how I can
be thankful
to have…
Thanksgiving
Every day!
