The lonely figure abandoned in the park,
A forgotten word never once spoken,
A lost promise once again broken,
You don’t notice the absent in the day,
That ones that have nothing more to say,
The letter in a messy drawer still not read,
The familiar face on which a smile is dead,
You don’t notice the thorn amongst the weeds,
The deep hope beneath the many weeds,
The glass in a room filled with mirrors,
The awkward in a life marked by errors,
You just don’t notice...
Until you shut your eyes and see with your heart,
Until you plug your ears and hear with your soul,
Until you tie your hands and touch with your spirit,
We, the sons and daughters of a world apart,
How easily we forget the divinity of our role,
God’s purpose for us that we too often inhibit,
Let us pray in the name of the Father, the Son, and Holy Ghost,
That we may remember the salvation of our Lord Jesus Christ,
The love born of itself for every reason in eternity that is foremost,
That we may resurrect the image of divinity that is our birthright.
You don’t notice sad eyes in the dark,
Until God’s light becomes the spark...
