It was an exciting time in my life. I had been searching for someone or something to fulfill me and meet my needs. One lonely night, I found this in him. He had always been around, but I never really saw him. My parents knew him and thought he was wonderful. The fact that my parents liked him gave me cause not to like him.
He waited patiently for me to come to him. It was not instant love, but it was true everlasting love. He portrayed all of the characteristic I had been searching for in a companion: kind, loving and caring. I could always turn to him when I needed to talk. Helping me to laugh when I wanted to cry was one of his specialties. No mater what I thought or did, he did not judge. If I were wrong, he let me find out on my own.
Once I opened my heart to him, he was always around. Though, I left him often to search for other loves, he never left me. He was wonderful and cared so much, yet I took him for granted. I thought I could replace his love with someone else. Although, he let me go, but I could call his name if I ever needed him. He was and still is always ready with open arms.
Today, I know I can call on him in the middle of the day or night. I can shout his name aloud or gently whisper it in my heart. He will hear and come. Through his love, I have accomplished so much more than I could have done on my own. Before we met, I could not truly love myself and others.
He came to earth and died on the cross for all of us. It amazes me to think He would have done it for me alone. After all these years, He remains by my side, and I do not have to pretend with him. He loves me completely just as I am. He is the lover of my soul, my friend, and my first love. His name is Jesus.

How true is that?!
