“Eve”
The first Mother of man,
yet the first man was not conceived by mere mortal alone:
But by the Almighty and His Grace from above.
she is bone of bone
flesh of flesh,
made from the rib of Adam, as he rest.
Then the Almighty said to them;
“From any tree of the garden you may eat, freely;
but from the tree of good and evil you shall not eat,
for the day that you eat from it you will surely die.”
{Gen. 2:16-17}
Now,
Eve had eaten of the forbidden fruit.
which she shared with Adam.
And the light of good and evil shone about them,
and they bowed their heads in shame.
And the Lord said to them;
“Behold, the man has become like one of Us, knowing good an evil; and now he might stretch out his hand, and take also from the tree of life, and eat and live forever”---
{Gen. 3:22}
Eve gave birth,
man of shame, man’s life-blood stopped, man’s blood continues.
One died by the hands of his brother,
In which God asked:
“Where is Abel your brother?”
To which Cain replied;
“I do not know.
Am I my brother’s keeper?
{Gen. 4:9,10}
Thus he became father to a tribe of children.
And he built a city named Enoch.
And now the blood of
Adam and Eve continues.
{Gen. 5}
First man, first women,
First son,
First murder
First death
First of a brothers keeper

it is ashamed that "human" firsts weren't as splendid as God's!

Not a pretty picture but great message and truth.

What a mess we humans can make! Glad we don't have to save ourselves - we'd make a mess of that too. Nice entry.

I liked the way you wrapped this up in your last five lines. God bless you.
