This has a lot of potential. I think you tackled the topic in a fresh way. The first couple of paragraphs are a bit too long. By condensing it into a couple of lines, you would have more words to develop characters, introduce conflict sooner, and add tag lines. It can be monotonous to always say he said, but there are ways to avoid the monotony. You can get into a rhythm when it's two people so you don't need to identify the speaker each time. Another great way is to add body language. Not only does it identify speaker, but it paints a picture for reader and shows emotion too. You do bring conflict and suspense into it, and I enjoy it a lot. You just need to start it sooner. I also really like the last line; it's a powerful line for sure. It can be good to have an open ending, but just another line or two could make this ending even more powerful. You have a great, clear, Christian message too. I enjoyed the setting, the character, and the dialog. Nice job.
