Pick up your mat
Pick up your mat and walk right through the pain,
step by step into the unknown,
set aside worldly fear and lies spoken by the enemy.
God put something magnificent inside of you.
If it were ever to escape the chains
the disease has held you captive in.
The devil would no longer validate
his narrative through you.
Pick up your mat and walk,
walk right past the plots and schemes.
Make your way to the arms of the only risen savior,
In Him, you will find your rest.
Throw your mat into the fire of lies where it belongs.
And keep walking, humbly without regret or looking back.
The Lord walks with you,
step by step He never gets tired of protecting you.
Let go of the burden of asking why,
and live in God’s saving grace.
Walk in total faith
faith enough to risk it all,
reaching out to touch the hem of His garment.
The mustard seed you started with became enough
to make the entire garden grow.
Now go and share the fruits that have come to harvest,
with the ones who haven’t abandoned their mats yet.
(John 5:8-9 NIV)

”At once the man was cured;
he picked up his mat and walked.

Wow. I LOVED this. So powerful, so beautiful. My only suggestion would be to put spaces to make it easier to read. Other than that, excellent job.

This is a really powerful message of hope and encouragement. But I would agree that putting some space between lines, even paragraphs, would make it much easier to read.
Keep on writing.

This is a beautiful piece. As someone with a significant chronic illness and pain, I felt like you wrote this just for me. The repition of pick up your mat is perfect and really hits your message out of the park.
