To just see the disappointment, especially in a child’s eyes, is heart- wrenching. A loved one, that is near and dear to their hearts, repeatedly makes promises, but the majority of the time the intentions are not there. To the child, not fulfilling their word is the same thing as lying to them. This repetitive pattern causes wounds to be even deeper. As that child grows older, those wounds of disappointment changes to bitterness, depression, and even sometimes, anger.
Without Jesus in their lives, that loving and forgiving child, will spiral into a steady decline; beginning from the inside out. An encouraging word is always needed, as it becomes vital to the destiny God has for their lives. They need someone to let them know that, although the ones that are so dear to them, don’t keep their promises, Jesus does. His promises are all contained in the Holy Bible, God’s Word and they are yes and amen!
Millions of people, in the world today, are considered big talkers, but they never intend to make good on their promises. As children of God, we should be examining our own walk with Him. Are there any areas in our lives that we’ve been speaking empty promises to Him and are we, too, all talk and no action?

You need to scroll down some to see it all. The free books alone are worth the membership fees. I agree that with some editing and adding Bible verses and perhaps a prayer, this would make an excellent devotion. If you ever decide to go that route and need some help, feel free to PM me, and I'll do my best to help you with the things I mentioned. I think you've a wonderful foundation upon which to build.
