Direct My Paths

(Proverbs 3:5 & 6)

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.  In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths.” (NKJV)

The last eWord was about trusting God with this year, knowing that He has good plans for us and that He wants to see us walking in the fullness of what He has for us.  Trusting God means following His direction and obeying His voice, and this may be the challenging part for many of us simply because not everyone hears the same way.  Our Abba God loves to be involved in our lives, and to partner with us in the things He has called us to do.  He knows the best way to live life and to do anything that needs to be done because He is Almighty El Shaddai for whom all things are possible!  We could go up mountains very fast if we approached them His way! 

Today the Holy Spirit is calling us into a new awareness of His presence and a deeper sensitivity to His voice.  This year is going to be so filled with fruitfulness and victory because of receiving His clear direction in everything.  He is promising to direct our paths and lead us through this year into the fullness of the Father’s plans for us but there is something we need to do: Acknowledge Him in all our ways.  This means looking to God, remembering Him, calling on the name of Jesus, in our going out and our coming in.  It means worshiping Him, having a dialogue with the Holy Spirit, and committing to Him each move we make.  It is a surrendering of every part of every day to God, involving Him in everything we do.  It means bringing Him into all our ways, and not just some of our ways!  It is a life of partnership and real connection.  You in Jesus and Jesus in you, abiding completely in the Vine! 

The Word exhorts us to acknowledge Him in all our ways.  This shows us that it is we who have to make the move.  As we choose to remember Him in everything and give Him the place of Lordship in our lives, He draws near and fills every part, and honors us with His voice and His counsel.  It is the most awesome and wonderful deal we could ever have, hallelujah! 

So will you say ‘yes’ to more of the Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit today, dear friend?  Will you say ‘yes’ to a deeper relationship with God, a real and passionate life of love?  Will you open every door in your heart (past, present and future), and allow Him to come inside and fill up every space?  Jesus loves you and longs for more of you, but you have to let Him have it all.  This is a day to commit to partnership and communion with the Holy Spirit.  You will experience an instant upgrade, and a joy from communion with Him which cannot be compared!  So if you have been feeling lost or confused and wondering how to receive guidance from God, choose to make Him your top priority!  Let Him become the Lord of your life and the ruler over everything you do.  Go deeper and develop your relationship with Him.  Begin to look to Him before you make any decision or response, whatever that may be, and acknowledge Him.  When you pause and tap into the Holy Spirit, it gives Him a window to speak and to show you what you need to know.  You will begin to hear Him more than ever before and He will show you the way to go!   

This is a new season in your life, dear friend.  Things are going to be different for you because you are going to be so in alignment with the heart of God, seeking Him for direction each new day.  You are going to look to Him and hear Him say “this is the way, walk in it”.  Perhaps you have been battling with some sickness or financial crisis.  Ask the Holy Spirit to show you the root cause and what you need to do.  You will be amazed when He gives you the game plan and you see clearly what you are meant to do! 

God is good and He is taking you to higher ground! He speaks the life and power of the Holy Spirit into you today and the mighty name of Jesus. He is looking deep into your eyes as you read this, and He says: “You are strong. You are an overcomer, you are a victor, and nothing can ever separate you from My love!” You are blessed!
