According To Your Word (Luke 1:38)

“Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.”

This message is the last in our Advent series, but it carries a
golden key which the Lord wants you to take into your hands and begin to use as you walk through this year. It is the power of agreeing with His Word.

We know that Heaven backs agreement, because Jesus told us that there is power when two or more agree (Matthew 18:19 & 20). When God speaks, His Word is real and alive, and cannot fail. Therefore, when we agree with His powerful Word, there is a fusion between Word and flesh, and the Holy Spirit gives us access to the miracle realm where He makes things happen.

When the Holy Spirit speaks to us about something that God wants to do in our lives, we are given the opportunity to say ‘yes’ or ‘no’ because He does not force His will on anyone. He wants our willing partnership. It is our agreement that activates the seed that a prophetic word releases. There may be many of us in the Kingdom who have not seen our prophecies fulfilled because we have not agreed with what the Lord has declared for us. We may be focusing more on our own limitations or about the timings and technicalities, instead of simply agreeing with God and allowing His Word to take shape. When Gabriel told Mary about everything that was planned, she had the opportunity to say ‘no’, but she freely and wholeheartedly agreed, and she said to Gabriel “Let it be to me according to your word.” Mary was making a statement of faith. She was suddenly faced with an unexpected situation which was going to affect her whole life. At that point, she had no real idea about the enormity of what she was being called to do, or what the reactions of people would be, including the one she was betrothed to. In the matter of a few moments, everything had changed for her, and she had no clear picture of what tomorrow would be, but she knew the One who knows, and that was good enough for her! She declared her trust in God. She agreed with His Word!

Friend, Abba wants to see you walking in His fruitfulness this year. He wants to see you stepping into your promises and seeing all the power of the Word fulfilled in your life. What He has spoken over you cannot fail to come to pass if you agree and flow with it. He is looking for people who will say, (like Mary) “I agree. I yield to your Word.” Mary said “Behold the maidservant of the Lord.” Her attitude was one of total submission. A female slave in that culture and time had no rights, no freedom to choose or decide for herself, and she was legally owned by the master she worked for. It is hard for us in 2015 to understand what this was really like, but it boils down to an attitude of complete yieldedness which says “Lord I trust You to bring what is best for me. I agree with what You have spoken and I lay my life down before You. Let Your Word be fulfilled.”

Mary agreed with everything that was spoken by the angel and received it all in the months to come. She agreed that with God nothing is impossible. Can you do the same today? Can you see above and beyond your present circumstances to the beautiful rainbow of covenant love which Abba has called you to? It is a life of true partnership between Him and you! It is a life where nothing is impossible because you are with God! He has already made this year a good one for you. He has been through it all and released His love into every day of 2015. Agree with Him – His kindness, His goodness and His tender love – and walk through this year with Him. His plans for you are good plans. His Word to you is “Yes” and “Amen”! You are stepping into the fulfillment of all that has already been decreed, as you align your heart with His and you say “Let it be to me according to Your Word”, in Jesus’ mighty name, AMEN!
