You Will “Bring Forth” (Luke 1:31)

“Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son and shall call His name Jesus.”

The angel Gabriel told Mary there was no need for her to be afraid, and then he delivered his bombshell! He told this young teenage girl that she was about to conceive a child and call Him Jesus! It must have been a big shock to Mary, and in her amazement, she could only ask him how this could be.

There are many things we can learn from these verses of Scripture, but something special we can see here is how God always works in partnership with people. He could easily have just placed a baby in Mary’s arms but He chose instead to place the divine Seed into her womb so that she would bring forth a Son. She had to tend that little Life by nourishing herself and staying healthy, nurturing the Word for nine months until Jesus was born into the world.

When the Lord gives you and me a Word from His heart, it is a divine seed which takes life in our spiritual womb. That Word has to be fed and nourished, nurtured and protected, until it comes forth into fruition and becomes flesh through us. Every time He reveals something to us and gives us an assignment, Abba is giving us an opportunity to partner with heaven in the Kingdom things that flow from His heart. From the beginning of time, God has done great things on the face of the earth, with the partnership of man. He gives us good ideas, tells us what to do, and gives us all the power and enabling we need. This is how He works, and it is an amazing deal!

As we stand at the beginning of a new year, I see a fresh and open, verdant field before us. Abba has wonderful plans for us and good things in store, and it all begins with a Seed that takes life in the womb. As we believe it and call it forth expectantly, those prophecies become the Word made flesh, carried to full term and birthed into the earth.

It could be that you have found it difficult to believe for your breakthrough because you have faced disappointments in the past, but I am now believing with you for your miracle. God’s Word never returns to Him void (Isaiah 55:11), so how can it be that we are still waiting? Only because there is always seed, time, and harvest (Genesis 8:22). Waiting times may differ for each of us, but there is usually a period of time for the seed to develop and come forth. Mary had to wait nine months for our Lord Jesus to be born, and there are many things that could have happened during that time to hinder the development and birth of the Baby in her womb. If she had not taken care of her life, or if she had given in to fear or the condemnation of those around her, there could have been many hindrances to her pregnancy. I can imagine that even traveling on a donkey through the desert was not the safest thing for the unborn child! Similarly, when you and I receive a prophetic Word, there are many things that could hinder its development and birth, especially the discouragement that could come from people around us, simply because they do not see what God is doing within us.

Today I declare over you the words that the angel Gabriel spoke over Mary: You will conceive in your womb and you will bring forth, and nothing shall hinder or abort what has begun inside you! God’s Word for your life shall be fulfilled! (This is a word not only about life in your spiritual womb but can also be received by someone waiting to be blessed in their physical womb.)

Mary protected the growing life inside her and brought forth the Baby when the time was right. You and I can do the same and see our miracle manifested 1) by agreeing with God’s Word, 2) by declaring His Word and His desire over our lives, 3) by guarding ourselves from doubt and unbelief or negative confessions, 4) by praying into what God has revealed, 5) by expecting the completion of what has been conceived, and 6) by being thankful that the Holy Spirit Himself is in partnership with us in the purposes of God! This is going to be a great year, and you are going to see many good things brought forth as you yield to the moving of the Holy Spirit and step into the plans of God. There is something happening in the spiritual realm which you are soon to see manifested in the physical. Call forth the fulfillment of your prophecies and know that things are going to be good because the Lord is good and His love endures forever!
