The Bible is the holy word of Almighty God. As Christians we ought to read the Bible and fear and tremble as we ponder every word for it is absolute truth and the law word of God. We read in 1 Corinthians 14:33 "For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all churches of the saints."

Isn't it interesting today that when you gather together with other professing Christians you might be surrounded with various translations of the Bible each claiming to represent the authority of God's word and yet this can not be for if we read the various translations and compare them to the one version that God has used for the last 403 years we will see that many words or phrases are taken away or omitted.

Is this not a violation of Revelation 22:19?

There are two egregious errors today when it comes to Bible translations. The first is to add to the Bible that which God did not intend. The second great error is to delete, subtract or omit certain words or phrases from the Bible that God did not intend. Either one of these errors can bring judgment upon that individual or group of individuals who tamper with the words of God.

We read in Proverbs 30:5-6 (KJV)

5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. 6. Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar."

A liar is one who does not tell the truth and we know that liars will not inherit the kingdom of God. We also know that God is not like man because He can not lie therefore every word He speaks and has given to man is true. We also know from this verse that any Bible translation that adds to His words is NOT PURE.

Another key scripture to ponder is found in Revelation 22:19.

According to Revelation 22:19 we read: "And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book."

A few years ago a friend of mine named Michael called me up and we had a good phone conversation as we compared the King James Bible with the NIV. Michael pointed out to me several verses of the NIV that read completely differently than the King James Bible (KJB) The changes were so different that they gave a completely different teaching. Some modern translations deny the deity of Jesus Christ while others deny the Lordship of Christ and other essential doctrines. All such omissions are, in fact, an attack upon the very person of God.

Now I ask you is it not like Satan to corrupt God's word? The answer is absolutely it is. If we do not have an accurate and authoritative word of God in any one Bible translation then we do not have the pure word of God.

I can remember back in the 1980's having a telephone conversation with the late historian Otto Scott and I pondered the idea of how there was much confusion at that time amongst professing Christians during weekly Bible studies and church gatherings because of the many Bible translations in use. I told Mr. Scott that all these Bible translations couldn't be of God because God is not the author of confusion. I can't remember Mr. Scott's response to my statement but I suspect he was in agreement.

I am grateful that God allowed me to read from the King James Bible and that I was taught from that Bible translation as a youth in my teens and never wavered from it even if I did have a few other translations such as the RSV and a paraphrase called "Good News for Modern Man" a misnomer to say the least.

Here is an exercise you can do right now if you have some time.

There may be a few translations which agree for the most part with the King James Bible but in most cases you will find the other translations have deleted key words or phrases.

Now I ask you which of the versions honor God's word the most? For myself I am convinced it is the King James Version also known as the Textus Receptus or Authorized Version (AV)
