The following is a letter from my former Pastor's daughter Esther Doolittle. Esther's parents were John and Ada Doolittle. John Doolittle was the pastor of the church I attended back around 1973-77. Esther was a PK (pastor's kid) so naturally I got to know her and her brother David and Lois while attending Faith Baptist Church in Stockton, CA. I believe Esther was the youngest of the Doolittles.
Esther's mother played the piano at the church. I'll always be grateful to this lady for teaching me to play the piano and a few select hymns. I studied from Michael Aaron and a Thompson book containing a variety of folk and classic music. Mrs. Doolittle never charged me a dime for her lessons. I'm sure this woman has gone to be with the Lord by now.

Hi Carl!

I got your letter yesterday, thanks for writing me. It's a nice thing to have more than just dust in your mail box.

I haven't had the time to read the Spanish or shorthand parts of your letter yet because I had two
finals today and I have another one to study for.

I'm praising the Lord with you over your good grades. I usually got a 3.00 in high school. I won't know what my quarter grades will be until I come back here from Spring break.

Well Carl, I'll be home pretty soon. Isn't that exciting? I'm excited. I want to come home and be with my parents and friends. I want to see Shadow too.(Her dog) How's your dog? How's your grandmother?

Your shorthand strokes look much nicer than when you first started out. I bet you've learned more about Spanish too. I'm glad that you are getting better in piano, that is something you can really use. Do you know how to type? You should learn if you don't already.

Well how has Rick been? I sure would like to see you guys come up here for Open House, but if you can't you can't. I'll see you soon anyway. Have you gone bowlinig lately? I haven't. Last week we went roller skating and it was a blast. I haven't had so much fun in a long time.

My roommate Susy isn't coming back next quarter so if we don't get any new roomates there will only be three in our room for six during the Spring quarter.

Carol isn't going to come home for Spring break. She has a new job working for the government and she is going to work through Spring break. She gets to stay here next quarter and I'm praising the Lord for it.

I think you might really enjoy coming to school here if you have the right attitude about everything that happens and if you have the right motives behind the things you say and do.

I have become very content in the love of god and I count i8t a realy priviledge to be a studen tof the Holy Spirit taught by great men of God.

Well Carl I have to go now, but I will see you soon.
