Is such a risk
I trip
Or slip
And down I fall
“Help me, please!” I call.
A walk that’s brisk
Is such a risk
When I walk fast
I simply don’t last
But the verse Isaiah 40:31
Gives hope to those who are unable to run
To “run and not be weary”*
To “walk and not faint” *
He gives strength to the weak
And power to each saint.
I walk or is it stroll?
My gait is just not fast
If I were in a marathon
I’d surely come in last.
But in the race of life
God is at my side
He gives me His strength
In Him I abide
While on earth
I’ll never win a race
But when the time comes
To see Jesus’ face
The race that He gave me
He’ll consider it won
As I hear from His lips
“My servant, well done.”
