Resolve’s the wind that moves the kite
And floats it till it’s out of sight.

Resolve’s the key that starts the car
To send it traveling afar.

Resolve’s the match that lights the fire,
Both catalyst and amplifier.

Resolve’s the push that drives the sled,
The force that makes it go ahead.

Resolve’s the hope to stay alive,
Against all odds to still survive.

But when . . .

The wind that moves the kite dies down
And leaves it falling to the ground.

The key that starts the car’s not here
Though it’s been searched for far and near.

The match that starts the fire flickers;
The flame that’s now arising quivers.

The push that drives the sled won’t go,
Its runners stuck in deep piled snow.

The hope to stay alive gives way
As fears of dying rule the day.

So then . . .

That is the time resolve will be
An absolute necessity.

Add to resolve hard work and prayer,
And find a resolution there.
