Picnics on the beach
Buckets, spades, large sunshades
From dusty cupboards reach
Suntan lotion, magic potion
Safe from harmful rays
Gently toasting, lightly roasting
Sun on warm skin plays
Shells galore along the shore
Precious treasure seeking
Pressed to ear, we can hear
The sea so gently speaking
Exploring pools, for tiny jewels
Under sea weed finding
Small hand grabs trundling crabs
Around the water winding
Sculpting sand, castle grand
Building ramparts high
Water spilling, deep moat filling
Against the tide so sly
Children racing, waves embracing
Crested water splashing
Water wings, inflated things
Sun reflected, flashing
Ice cream thick, melting quick
Leaving sticky trails
Fish and chips, ketchup drips
While watching far off sails
Dark clouds form, announcing storm
A flash of summer lightning
Shelter gain, to watch the rain
But soon the sky is brightening
Tired, weary, quietly cheery
Time to leave the scene
Footprints showing, to and fro-ing
Spells where we have been

Never mind...What a joy to read this lovely poetry.
The poem felt like ... well, it felt like summer.
I wanted to put a melody with your words and sing it!
