Love’s the greatest of the three;
Love is: Son most holy came from glory,
Lived out love so perfectly.
Love is: Pure and gracious, efficacious,
Thinks no vain or evil thought;
Love is: not deflated, irritated,
Neither anxious nor distraught.
Love is: Reassuring, all enduring
Not dependant on response;
Love is: kind, unswerving, not self-serving
Ever giving, never wants.
Love is: Unpretentious, not contentious,
Seeks the best for everyone;
Love is: understanding, not demanding,
Never trite or overdone.
Love is: Not parading, masquerading,
Showing off in vanity;
Love is: self-expending, never ending,
Free to all humanity.
Love is: Christ the righteous hanging lifeless
On the cross of Calvary;
Love is: Our Proponent makes atonement,
By His blood He sets us free.
Love is: Those forgiven ever living
By His Spirit’s love within;
Love is: Sisters, brothers loving others
‘Love covers multitudes of sin.’
Love is: Faith’s projection, hope’s perfection
In the presence of the Lord;
Love is: Son most holy—King of glory—
The fullfilment of His Word.
