When I am grieving, all alone,
my eyes are blinded by my tears
my mind is numb, my heart is stone
no end in sight to ease my pain.

Look to the Lord
God understands
God holds you close, within his hand;
seek your happiness in God.
Look to the Lord.

When God seems distant, far away
and I struggle with my faith
the path unclear, I lose my way
in the dark I stumble 'round.

Look to the Lord
God understands
God holds you close, within his hand;
God leads you back to the right path.
Look to the Lord.

In the flowers and the trees
in a gorgeous, starry night
I hear God's voice upon the breeze
I see God's glory everywhere.

Look to the Lord
God understands
God holds you close, within his hand;
you'll find beauty and your heart's delight.
Look to the Lord.

In each act of kindness shown
in forgiving and being forgiven
when compassion like a river flows
I see God's face shine like the sun.

Look to the Lord
God understands
God holds you close, within his hand;
always seek to do God's will.
Look to the Lord.

When I cry with pain and grief
when I sing and dance for joy
walk by faith, or unbelief
God knows each step I take.

Look to the Lord
God understands
God holds you close, within his hand;
seek God in everything you do.
Look to the Lord.

What a beautiful poem with great advice. I like how you made sure to instruct look to the Lord both in hard times and in times of beauty and awe.
