to me I was not kind,
I see, a distant tower.
I knew that He was there,
for me He really cared,
God helped me, with His power.
The Lord was kind to me,
from sin He sat me free,
as I sat and wrote, to Him.
As I was drawing near,
I heard the angels cheer,
but I knew my life, was grim.
I knew that yesterday,
Father you heard me say,
my sins has made me, unclean.
I lived out on the street,
with chains upon my feet,
to the people, I was mean.
But you did let me know,
that You did love me so,
and You would be, by my side.
For You have given me,
Your Son to set me free,
He bore my sins, as He died.
Now I no longer roam,
Father will take me home,
to a Heavenly place, for me.
So when I finally know,
Heaven is where I'll go,
the place I've always wanted,
to be.
