It took me a while to realize that I was a writer. In my last year of college, I passed the English Essay Exam the first time. Even during that time I never saw the world of writing approaching me swiftly.
After reading a book entitled “Walking By Faith” by Joe L. Dudley Sr I finally realized that my calling was writing. When I finished this book ,I prayed and asked God to reveal my purpose. I read testimonies in the book, of how God blessed others, by answering their prayers for success. After my prayer God actually answered within days.
I began to receive inspiration from God, that caused me to write ideas almost anywhere. I had to keep a pen and pad with me at all times. Even when I retired for the night, I would keep writing supplies in bed with me.
Soon I began to collect poetry, thoughts, and other types of writings. After my collection began to grow to a substantial amount, I was led to write a book, at this point and time I have self-published four Christian books. It has been an awesome experience to share what God has given me.
After my last two books were written. I began to pray for ways to expand my writing career. Since letter writing was the beginning of my interest in writing, I was led to start a writing ministry. This idea was fulfilled through a spiritual open letter, which I send on a bi-monthly basis. It has been circulating for three years now.
I feel that in order to expand as a writer, we should look for opportunities, that would cause us continually to grow and develop as a writer. I have found this with my writing ministry, and through Faith Writers. I am very excited about the possibilities involved with this ministry. Contest like “The Writing Challenge” and other writing opportunities, can help anyone become a better writer. Faith Writers is a sure way for me to expand this gift of writing, that God has so graciously given me.
