Sometimes, when I hear something that I know, deep down in my soul, just isn't right, either I have to speak up or nearly bite off my tongue trying not to.
But if I hear something that even rings a tiny bit contrary to what I know to be true about God, well, usually I just blurt out "That's not true!"
I realize that we all experience life in different ways. There are a lot of variables involved--most of these variables point to the ultimate truth, and I think this is part of what makes life so interesting.
The only real truth that ever needs to be really argued is the truth of our salvation. This is the one thing we have to make sure does not get twisted in the translation. If we hear the word of God being twisted, and we know it is being twisted, we have to speak up. It is our duty.
We must convey the truth with love, but we must convey it. This is part of the Christian walk. We must 'walk the talk', no matter where it leads us.
Sounds easy, but in reality, this is one of the hardest things to do. You don't want to be attacked for standing up, but stand up you must. If you are the only one there, and you are the one who knows the truth, then you will be prompted to set the record straight.
Remember the price Jesus paid for us.
The least we can do is speak up for Him.
We must always be ready to give an answer. We must always be ready to talk
about our walk with God.
Who knows? You might be the only real Christian some people ever get the chance to talk to. It's scary to step out sometimes, but we have been charged to do it, therefore, we must.
We must put our personal comfort aside, and honor Our Lord. In our walk.
In our talk.
In our lives.
